The Gone Chair is based on a real story of a boy who went missing from a behavior modification center in Missouri. A father searches for his missing son- his dangerous son- and is forced to confront the violence in himself as he questions: what makes a child this way? Are people born evil? What responsibility do we have as parents, as a community, to those who go so far astray…
It was developed at Riverside Theatre with gracious support of the Artistic Directors Ron Clark and Jody Hovland. It was aided by Working Group Associates Austin Bunn and Jennifer Fawcett.
